Formidable and in such a tiny frame, Ana is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Armed with a degree in Multimedia Design at at the University of Beira Interior, Portugal—this fiery redhead sure wanted more. She moved to Aveiro took a Master’s Degree in Design and devoted a lot of passion and time in writing her a thesis about how you can discover one city by choosing to lose yourself in one place and how elemental, raw and honest graphic design can enhance this experience instead of the run-of-the-mill tourist guides you find everywhere. From then on, she embodied this in her work. For her, design is the ultimate passion but also a venue—a way to question the world and how you can revisit the way you have always seen the world or the ability and the prerogative to just think differently. Design for her is the freedom to start from a mere sketching and make one’s idea real.
She is a firm believer in “really trusting stupid ideas—because normally they are just new.” Her favorite quote is “Le objectif, La Lune” from the Tintin book, so you really shouldn’t ask her about her future plans. However, you should know that her favorite animal is the penguin, and her favorite colors are black, white (Einstein would argue that both are the absence of colors) and yellow all together and in the right proportion – the one you can find in a silly, lovely penguin.
