CHEZ SUSHI NEEDED TO EMBRACE ONLINE ORDERING ON MOBILE AS THE FRANCHISE EXPANDS IN THE GCC
ChezSushi is one of Dubai’s favorite sushi restaurants. With an innovative ‘Let’s roll’ option that lets everyone create their very own roll with an online interactive interface. Chez Sushi already had a website. But, to cater to a younger audience it needed to exit the web and enter smartphones to literally be at the client’s fingertips. Having worked with the brand for nearly two years—and the ongoing modifications on the desktop version, gave the agency a pretty good idea on how mobile should be.
We created a mobile-optimized online ordering system. Web applications provide a better experience than native ones as they are readily accessible. The user can type Chez Sushi’s address or click on an advertisement and begin ordering immediately without the need to download an app. Furthermore, by creating an optimized mobile version, the load times became faster and the whole experience smoother. The innovative sushi module “Let’s roll” that existing customers already love was crucial in the development of the mobile app. With a smaller piece of real estate on mobile screens, UI:UX had to be tight. Easy, agile and simple were the three cornerstones in the design of the site.
Mobile + Tablet traffic nowadays accounts for more than 60% of the global traffic of the site, with a constant increase in the number of orders placed trough a smartphone. We definitely captured the right audience and increased the overall amount of orders online.
