THE BEAUTY FLOOR – AN E-COMMERCE PLATFORM FOR BEAUTY PRODUCTS
WE PUT ON MERCHANT HATS, ROLLED UP OUR SLEEVES, OPENED SHOP AND GOT ON WITH HARD SELLING
Our brief was to propel The Beauty Floor in the online space after having designed and built the brand and the e-shop. We opened shop in July 2015, and we needed to generate awareness locally and position thebeautyfloor.com as the e-shop where you can buy your favorite salon beauty brands for the best prices on the market; all that, while continuing to test the market firstly to understand what the customers are looking for—and the best ways to serve them and retain them.
We were to achieve these objectives by focusing solely on the online space via organic growth and paid advertising through a performance marketing scope, including social media management, digital advertising and content marketing.
We launched a pilot ad campaign on Google Search, Display Network and Facebook to test the performance of each channel versus the chosen objective (i.e. awareness, leads, sales, retention).
On Facebook, we deployed sets of highly targeted ads with relevant creative artworks and a strong call-to-action, aiming to test what creative/copy works better. We then monitored each campaign ad set, cut the data, analyzed it and optimized the ads, banking on the best performing elements, both from a targeting and a creative perspective.
While utilizing Facebook for conversions, on Instagram we focused on brand equity, publishing original content and lifestyle photography, growing the brand credibility and attracting a more relevant/loyal audience.
This has been a fun performance and targeting exercise that challenged us to think like a teenage girl looking to impress her uni mates, a young sporty woman with a strict health regimen, a sophisticated lady with an active social life or a gentleman just looking to buy a lovely gift.
Since launch we tripled the sales month on month, with 24% returning customers and this is just the beginning of an exciting journey on The Beauty Floor.
